National Tinnitus Awareness Day – 2005
Tuesday 22nd March
Action for Tinnitus Research (ATR) will be joined by RNID, the largest charity representing the nine million deaf and hard of hearing people in the UK to raise awareness of tinnitus on National Tinnitus Awareness Day, which this year will take place on Tuesday March 22nd.
National Tinnitus Awareness Day was launched by ATR in 2004.
The aim of National Tinnitus Awareness Day is to draw attention to the neglected and complex 'condition', to improve understanding of the head noise complaint and raise awareness the issues that people with tinnitus have to face.
The results of new research commissioned by ATR on the prevalence and impact of tinnitus derived from our online poll and a 3000 respondent telephone survey conducted by ICM will be released on Tinnitus Awareness Day 2005.
Paul Pennington, from ATR said, "All too often people with tinnitus feel that their 'condition' has been neglected. Tinnitus Awareness Day is an opportunity to show that organisations like Action For Tinnitus Research and RNID are working tirelessly to provide help and support and fund research that will hopefully bring the day closer when people with tinnitus can experience a better quality of life."
